Habitats Collide: New Works by Crystal Morey

I am interested in what it means to be human and our emotional connections to other creatures and the natural world. I am captivated in the way natural habitats are delicately and tenuously woven together, dependent on complex relationships and conditions. As humans we are both the most capable adapters to new environments while also the most destructive and invasive element. I aim to show ideas of interconnectedness through human and animal emotions of frustration, conflict and contemplation. I want to show how human and animal fates are infinitely bound together and how the stresses we invoke create uncertainty in our rapidly changing environment.
